During the implementation process, Enterprize Energy Group (“EE”) and PTSC G&S/Fugro contractors have closely coordinated with local authorities such as Vietnam Maritime Administration, Binh Thuan Maritime Administration, Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries Department, Binh Thuan Border Guard to carry out marine installation works in order to ensure safety and comply with applicable laws.
The deployment of highly sensitive instruments on FLIDAR buoy to collect oceanographic data including waves, winds, currents, etc., is one of the key milestones of the project, demonstrating EE’s serious commitment in implementing the survey program approved by the Government of Vietnam.
FLIDAR buoy will float on the sea surface and has a buoy height of 6.75m, a diameter of 2.8m, weight 4250kg. The height of buoy below the draft is ~ 2.4m, a height of buoy (including antenna) above the draft is 4m. The FLIDAR is a specialized equipment manufactured by Fugro in Norway in compliance with international standards for marine survey equipment. FLIDAR buoys will not emit emissions, waste water, solid waste and have no impact on the environment and fishermen.
In addition, FLIDAR also meets the Vietnam standards and regulations QCVN 20:2010/BGTVT on signaling buoys for the marine data collection, section 2.4.6 Specialized buoys. FLIDAR identification features include: Shape - Column, Color - yellow, Peak sign - a yellow X, Light characteristics - yellow light, flashing feature in accordance with regulations - single flash with a period of 9 second.
After the FLIDAR is successfully deployed and installed, PTSC G&S (a subsidiary of the PetroVietnam Group) will undertake security services to guard 24 /24 during operation in order to ensure the safety of FLIDAR and ships, vessels when moving through the buoy location.
Thang Long Wind project in Binh Thuan province is currently the first and only offshore wind power project in Vietnam that has received approval from the Government of Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the survey and preparation of documents for inclusion into NPDPt plan - a basis for investment implementation. Since June 2019, EE Group has synchronously conducted wind measurement, aerial survey, and bathymetric survey about 2,800 km2 from the coast of Binh Thuan province from 20 - 50km, water depth from 20-50m. The survey results obtained up until now confirm the great potential of Vietnam's offshore wind energy source and confirm that Vietnam is one of the offshore wind power centers in the near future in the world.
